Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2, 2026
The short version: DriveMosaic does not collect, transmit, or sell your file data. Your disk contents never leave your Mac.
What DriveMosaic does
DriveMosaic reads your filesystem metadata (file names, sizes, directory structure) entirely on your device to generate the visual treemap. This analysis happens locally — nothing about your files, folders, or their contents is ever sent to any server.
What we collect
We collect only one piece of information: your email address, submitted when you first open the app. This is used to:
- Send release notes and update announcements
- Communicate important security or product changes
Your email is stored securely by Formspree (our email collection service) and is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
What we do not collect
- File names, paths, or contents — your disk contents never leave your device
- Usage analytics or telemetry — we don't track how you use the app
- Crash reports — DriveMosaic has no crash reporting SDK
- Location data — never collected
- Device identifiers — beyond what Polar generates for license activation (see below)
License key activation
If you purchase DriveMosaic Pro, your license key is validated through Polar.sh. During activation, Polar receives your license key and generates an instance identifier to track your activation slot. No other personal data is transmitted. Polar's privacy policy is available at polar.sh/legal/privacy.

Data retention
We retain your email address for as long as you are a DriveMosaic user. You can request deletion at any time by emailing [email protected] and we will remove it within 7 days.
Children's privacy
DriveMosaic is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
